Workshops, Intensives, Photoshoots & Holiday Activities

 

Hi everyone,

 

We hope you’re all settling back into the new term and that everyone has enjoyed a fantastic start to the dance season!

 

As always, we’re committed to giving our dancers opportunities that go beyond their weekly classes. Throughout September and October, we have some fantastic workshops, intensives, photoshoots and holiday activities planned, giving dancers the chance to learn from industry professionals, develop new skills, build confidence and, most importantly, have lots of fun.

 

Whether you’re looking to improve your technique, master new acro skills, enjoy a professional photoshoot or spend a couple of days immersed in dance during the October holidays, there’s something for everyone.

THURSDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER

 

MJ WORKSHOP

 

With West End Associate Choreographer Xena Gusthart

 

Venue: Rosehill High School, Wallyford

 

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome back our former student Xena Gusthart for a very special workshop.

 

Xena began her dance journey with us at our Port Seton (East Lothian) school and has gone on to enjoy an incredible professional career. She was the Associate Choreographer on MJ the Musical in London’s West End, Choreographer for Bat Out of Hell, performed in The Bodyguard, and has recently been working in Scotland on the production of Burlesque, following its successful London run.

 

It will be incredibly special to welcome Xena back to teach in the very studio where her own dance journey began. We know she’ll inspire the next generation of @Dance dancers.

 

WORKSHOP TIMES

 

Workshop Times

Grades 1, 2 & 3 (Younger Group)    6:00–7:15pm

Intermediate & Advanced (Grade 5 and above)    7:15–8:30pm

 

Cost: £20 per dancer

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from someone performing and creating at the very highest level of the industry.

 

SUNDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER

 

ACRO INTENSIVES

 

Venue: Rosehill High School

 

INTENSIVE ONE: BACKBEND & BRIDGE KICKOVER

 

Suitable for students who can confidently perform a bridge.

 

INTENSIVE TWO: FRONT & BACK WALKOVERS

 

Suitable for students who can confidently perform a bridge kickover.

 

These focused sessions are ideal for dancers wanting to strengthen their acro skills, improve technique and build confidence with key tricks.

 

COST: £15 PER INTENSIVE

 

 

 

OCTOBER

 

MINI PHOTOSHOOT

 

With Rimbaud Patron

 

Soloist Dancer and Artist in Residence Photographer at Scottish Ballet

 

We’re delighted to offer dancers the opportunity to take part in a professional mini photoshoot with Rimbaud Patron, Soloist Dancer and Artist in Residence Photographer at Scottish Ballet.

 

Each dancer will enjoy a 30-minute professional photoshoot and receive five edited photographs.

 

COST: £95 PER DANCER

MONDAY 12TH & TUESDAY 13TH OCTOBER

 

OCTOBER DANCE CAMP

 

Time: 10:00am–3:00pm

Venue: Lasswade High School

 

Join us for one or two action-packed days of dance, packed with fun, learning and plenty of variety!

 

CLASSES INCLUDE

 

    ●    Acro

    ●    Commercial

    ●    Ballet

    ●    Kicks, Leaps & Turns

    ●    Limbering & Stretching

    ●    Plus lots more!

 

Whether dancers join us for one day or both, it’s always an enjoyable couple of days filled with learning, laughter and making memories with friends.

 

COST: £45 PER DAY
